What young person doesn't dread the question “What do you want to do with the rest of your life?”  In fact what person doesn’t?  The three websites below are the sites that our counselors at West Ottawa use on a daily basis to help students identify appropriate career paths.  As you begin this search, we welcome you to contact the guidance department for additional help, we love to help with this process!

  • Quick Interest Inventory available to give students direction


Career Cruising

  • Familiar to students, they have been using it at West Ottawa since middle school
  • Login information: username: westottawa, password: panthers, accessing student Educational Development Plan
  • (EDP) Username: 5 digit WO ID number and password: panthers
  • Accessing the EDP allows you to see the trend of their career thoughts
  • More in depth “Career Matchmaker” tool with a “My Skills” assessment

College Board

  • Good site for students just starting out in the career/college process intending to go to a two or four year college
  • Great articles on the process of selecting majors in colleges based on career interests
  • The “Get Started” tab is an excellent place to start
